Kate had sooo much fun on Christmas. She was so excited to open presents, she had to "help" everyone else with theirs too! It was nice to have Poppy here!

Little builder
I asked Kate to build me something and walked away. She came running through the house and said she had built me a house. Unfortunately, she knocked down part of it before I could take the picture and she rebuilt it. It was TOTALLY symmetrical the first time. She was so proud of herself and I can't believe how grown up she looks in these pictures!!

Meetup Christmas party
Kate and I are in a meetup for moms in our immediate area and have really enjoyed getting to know everyone. We had a kids' Christmas party and she had a blast. She mainly enjoyed eating but also made a sparkly Christmas ball, some reindeer food and a Rudolph puppet!
Future bowler, she got 2 out of 3 beanbags through Rudolph's nose and she meant business!
Catching up again!
I am such a bad blogger mom lately. I've been getting so much stuff done for Christmas and working on the three creative teams I'm on now which equals 7 layouts a month, Yikes! So here I am catching up again.
Kate got to see Santa TWICE this year and hugged him under the Christmas tree at the capital tree lighting too. She is sooo in love with him this year. She can't get enough.
We saw Santa first at the YMCA breakfast with Santa. Tova and Koran went with us and we had a great day. We weren't far back in the line at all. Kate walked right up, climbed up beside Santa and snuggled into him. I couldn't have asked for a better photo opportunity. Her happiness just shows! Here are the girls at the pancake breakfast, then riding the motorcycles at Budafest, Kate getting a pony ride and McDonald's after. It's so cool to see them having so much fun together. They've known each other since Tova was born!

Grandma and PawPaw's Visit
I am a little behind in posting. My mom and stepdad came out to visit several weeks ago. We weren't planning it far ahead, mom just found out she had some extra leave and they decided to come. Kate was so excited to have them here and we did a lot of her favorite things like going to the open gymnastics playtime and the Children's museum. She even put up with a grown up visit to the LBJ library. lol Here are some pics from the visit!

Curious Kate!
I think my child is watching too much Curious George. In the past 24 hours, she has gotten into Ryan's wallet and taken all the cards out, gotten into my file drawer and spread papers all over the floor, cut up a little bracelet with her safety scissors and drawn all over a baby doll's head with a crayon. It was obvious she had no idea what she did to the doll was wrong because she brought it to me saying "look, mom!" with a proud look on her face. I gave her a magic eraser and she did a great job cleaning up her mess. She has definitely entered a curious phase!

Joe?
Kate likes to listen to "Mr. Joe", Joe McDermott a local children's musician. Today, we were listening to the radio and Dire Straits, "Money for Nothing" came on and the guitar part was playing. Kate shouted "It's Mr. Joe!" If you've ever heard how different Mr. Joe is, it's pretty funny.

My brave girl!
Okay, so Kate was supposed to dance at the Firefest today but freaked out, I mean kicking screaming, did not want to do it. So we watched the other kids dance. But, she saw the kid holding the snake and there was no way she was leaving without holding it. She loved it. She even kissed it!
On the less adventurous side, she also got to feed a camel. On the way out, she had a butterfly painted on her arm. Halfway home(all of ten minute ride), she exclaimed "I licked the butterfly off my arm!" Yep, sure enough, it was gone!

Work of art
This morning Kate had the imprint from the wrinkles in her pullup on her butt and I guess she's never noticed them before. She ran into my room with her pants around her ankles and turned her butt towards me, exclaiming "look mom! Somebody draw this on my butt!" She said it in a worried tone like she was really shocked someone would draw on her butt while she was sleeping. It was hilarious!
