First Independent Artistic Decision!

Today, Kate was coloring with markers and got a little on her hand. She tried to make a handprint which didn't work, of course. Then she looked at her hand, then at me, then pointed to where I keep my stamp pads. I said, "do you want to make a handprint?" and she said "yes." In the past, I've had to put her hand in the stamp pad and hold her hand and put it on the paper. I got the stamp pad out and put her hand in it, then she stamped it on the paper three times! She was so proud of herself! She ended up covering one up with a sticker but here's the finished product.

Swimming!

Kate is so into swimming this year. She already likes to go under with me, appears to be holding her breath. I count 1,2,3 and we go under. When we surface, she rubs her nose and says "2" like she wants to go back under again. She loves to jump off the wall into my arms. As soon as she gets to me, she's already kicking and trying to get back to the wall. She should be swimming in no time at this rate!

First haircut!

Kate got her first haircut on May 23 and didn't even cry. She was so interested in what was going on behind her, she kept whipping her head around. The end result was an adorable little pixie cut!
