Digging for Dino Bones!
We rode with Aimee and Grace and met Tova and Koran and our mom's meetup group at the local science center to "dig for dino bones." Kate enjoyed playing in the oversized sandbox for a little while but then got bored so we went and looked at the rescued animals they have there, a coyote, a skunk, a possum, a racoon and several others. On the way home, we had the yummiest shaved ice! Mmmmmm!

New stats!
Kate had her wellness check today and she's super healthy! I don't think she has visited the doctor once since her last well check, at least not that I can remember! Anyways, she was 30.5 lbs and 37 inches. She is 50th percentile on height, weight and BMI and the doctor said she'd probably be about 5'4" when she grows up. It will be interesting to see if that's true.

Little smarty!
Kate and I were walking up a big hill at the park. She had my hand and she looked up at me and panted, "mommy, this hill is heavy!" I thought that was a pretty good way for her little brain to process a steep hill! My little smart girl!

Eskimo WHAT?
Kate is totally into Eskimo kisses right now and will ask for them over and over. The funny thing is she can't quite say it. She says "eskimo piss"! hahahaha

The power of prayer!
Kate has been having monster fears and telling me she's having bad dreams. At night we pray about it and then I tell her if she wakes up scared, Jesus will help her if she prays. It's been a few weeks of her coming out several time before finally getting to sleep. Last night, she went down without a hitch and slept through the night. This morning I told her how proud I was of her and she said "Jesus helped me!"

Today's funnies!
I put Kate down for her nap wearing stick-on earrings. About an hour later, she came out of her room upset saying "I want my earrings back from my mouth, I put them in my tummy." Apparently, she ate them! lol
Tonight we were going through a brainquest book, which is a series of pictures and questions to build vocabulary. There was a picture of a cute little yellow bird with his bum towards us. He had two feathers and one was lying on the ground. I asked Kate the question, "what did this bird lose?" She looked very thoughtful and it was obvious she was searching for the right word, then she exclaimed "a leaf!" I about died laughing. It did sort of look like a leaf. hehehe

Birthday party!
It was a week of partying. On the 4th, we had Kate's birthday party at the dance studio where she take classes. The kids had a blast. Kate was definitely acting 3. She "didn't want to do it" with whatever was going on, until we got to the dancing and the gymnastics. At one point, she even hid under the birthday table!

Happy Birthday Kate!!!
Kate had an AWESOME birthday! Her grandparents all chipped in and Ryan and I put in the labor to give her a new swingset. She is very excited! She also loved all her other presents and her cupcakes. Since she loves baking so much right now, she helped me with her cupcakes. She thought the 3 candle was edible and took a big bite out of it. Her face was priceless when the wax came back out in small bits!
