Seaworld and the zoo!

We just got back from spending three days at Seaworld and the Zoo in San Antonio. We had such a great time. Kate loved feeding the dolphins at Seaworld. Last time we went, she wouldn't even lay on the wall, this time she saw it and said "lay on wall" and ran over and jumped up. We got her the fish and she loved throwing them in the dolphin's mouth.

She loved the splash area. It took her a little while to warm up to it the first day we were there but by the second day, she couldn't wait and was already trying to strip down to her bathing suit as we pulled the stroller up. She ended up getting to do it twice because she played in the sand after the first time and needed a wash down!

I love the picture of her with the pony because she waited patiently until every other kid had pet him and got to spend several minutes with him. She was so happy. I also love the one of her sitting in front of the aquarium because she had been avoiding getting her picture taken. At the aquarium, she said "take my picture", sat down and waited!

At the zoo, her favorite thing was holding a butterfly. We got lucky right off the bat and found one that was willing and she was so proud, holding him gently on her finger. We spent about 10 more minutes trying to no avail to get another one on her finger after that one flew away! At least she got to hold one!

It was sooo hot! The kangaroo picture says it all. It was 100 on our third day and pretty close on the first and second. We were all tired and ready to go home by the end of the third day.

Seaworld

I haven't had time to go through the over 100 photos yet but had to share the silly scream. Kate LOVES this ride as you will be able to tell when you see the video! I'll post more pics and videos soon. We had a great time and we are all very tired!

Bedtime with mommy?

Last night, Kate would not go to sleep so Ryan brought her in our room where I was reading. Not sure if she was feeling sick, I said "do you want to come lay down next to mommy." She said "YEAH!" and hopped into bed, making herself totally comfortable. Ryan had to get the camera...

Little princess

Kate's got a new princess dress and she's very happy with it. Just an update on how she's doing too. She's been going through a testing mommy phase. Last week there were days I didn't think I'd get through with her, screaming, throwing tantrums, yelling no, hitting, etc. We are working through it but I am amazed at her will. I guess that's a good thing in the long run but wow! I am not looking forward to age 13 if 2 is like this! hehehe Most days though, she is my sweet little princess and we have a great time. That's what makes it all worth it.

Tova and Kate

Tova and Kate have been friends since they were born. Tova came and played with us while daddies were out of town and they had a fun time pretending to do each other's hair! Here's a picture from when Kate was 4 months old and Tova was 2 months old. Isn't it amazing how they've grown in 2.5 years?

Happy Mother's Day!

Kate made a card for me and her daddy took pictures of her doing it. She could hardly wait to give it to me and talked about it all the way home from church. I couldn't have gotten a better gift!

She was dressed in her cute little white dress grandma gave her and I caught a winning smile. God has so blessed me!

Playtime!

We had such a great time at the local playnasium today! Kate and our neighbor Logan were practically inseparable! They played so well together. Everyon had a great time! I was getting ready to take a picture of Kate in a boat when she fell backwards into it so of course I had to take a picture before I helped her! Such a great mom!

1st dance class

Kate visited dance class with Grace and Aubrey came too. She's going to take the Little Dancer's Workshop in the summer. They stay for 3 hours(break for mom too) and do ballet, tap and tumbling. They also do a craft, have storytime and snack. She had so much fun. Ever since then, she will raise one foot to her knee and say "I a ballerina!" Her arms are still really short so when she tries to put them up over her head, they barely touch over the top of her head. It's so cute! We went to buy her shoes the other day and she was thrilled!

Sleepover!

Grace stayed at our house for the first time last week. She and Kate had a great time together. They both had to wear "princess shoes" while playing(sparkly shoes). At dinner time, Kate would drop something, Grace would pick it up, Kate would say "thank you" and Grace would say "you're welcome". This happened several times and just cracked me up how grown up they were. In the tub, they loved dumping water on each other's heads and squealing with laughter. I think more water was outside the tub than inside when they were through! At the playground the next day, they totally entertained each other. There was a sign there and they made believe it was an easel and pretended to write on it with pieces of mulch. It was so cool to see their imaginations at work! While they had their share of disagreements, they had a blast together and Kate was so sad to see Grace go!

Blubonnets

Last weekend there were tons of bluebonnets so I was going to wait until later to take pictures. Then Kate got sick. So yesterday, I looked around and the bluebonnets were almost all gone! I was shocked how quickly they went away! I found one little patch and got a few shots, but Kate's latest thing is she won't look at the camera. Unfortunately, we tried to get pictures in another patch and that was cut short by Kate stepping in a fire ant mound. I was telling her not to move because she was heading for an area where I thought she might fall and slide into the drainage area which was quite a drop and she was crying. I thought she was just upset because I was using my stern voice. She did not move, I picked her up and her little feet were swarming. She looks like she has a weird disease on her feet. She was being attacked and still obeyed mommy! I was so proud of her but at the same time I felt terrible!

My favorite picture is the one of her with the stick looking back at me. She is really into sticks right now. She picks them all up and lines them up on the back patio and counts them.
